Coloplast Self-Cath® Closed System is a unisex system that provides a method for safe, simple catheterization. The introducer tip aids in the reduction of bacterial contamination of the catheter during insertion. The secure cap protecting the introducer tip protects the introducer tip from further contamination.
The ring on the cap makes it easy to remove and the EasyOff™ tear tab makes the bag easy to empty, even for users with limited dexterity.
What is Intermittent catheterization? It is the means of insertion and removal of a catheter several times throughout the day. The procedure is done to aide in the emptying process of a bladder that doesn’t empty accordingly. It is also practiced to those patients unable to empty their bladder normally due to MS, Spina Bifida, or a Spinal Cord Injury. The need to reuse catheters is no longer necessary to patients performing catheterization procedures from home; this is because Medicare has changed it's policy and allows up to 200 per month.
Intermittent catheters can not be processed until we receive a prescription for the billing quantity. Your physician should include the French size and number of times you catheterize per day on the prescription. This may faxed or emailed to us. Once received we can take care of all your Medicare Billing needs. Please contact us with any questions you may have.
