Stress can play a big part in multiple sclerosis, unfortunately, we all have it & we each deal with it in our own way. For me, a way to deal with stress is simply to remember to be grateful. Grateful for who I am, knowing God created me and He doesn't make mistakes! Also, being grateful for what I have, my family is on top of the list (like most people). When something goes wrong I can become stressed. This is what has been happening in my life:

Just came back from the dermatologist with my 22 year old daughter. We found out she has melanoma. It appeared as a mole which was really not unusual, since she has many moles on her body. This one was different though. It started out like an ordinary brown mole but over time part of it raised up & turned black. She also said that sometimes it itched. Treatment was surgery to excise the mole. Here is a picture of the mole after the dermatologist had drawn around it. You can see other nearby moles also. He ended up taking more than just this ~ she has 9 stitches on the outside. More 'surgery' is to come next month, he needs to make sure there are no cancer cells nearby, so he will 'widen the margins' by going back in & making a wider pass, taking some more tissue & sending it off to the pathologist again. Of course we will be praying for no cancer cells!

The GOOD NEWS ~ The melanoma didn't have time to become invasive, because she saw it right away & went to the Dr. as soon as we could get in. It is called In-Situ meaning it only affected the upper layer
of skin, the epidermis. Here is a great website that tells all about it (& then some!) http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/pdq/treatment/melanoma/Patient/page2#Keypoint7
